PRAISE AND THANKSGIVING - OUR SPIRITUAL WEAPON

OUR DAILY BREAD

ree

Bible Verse - Acts 16:25

About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them.

In the Old Testament, one could realise that praise had a tremendous contribution to every battle or war the nation Israel would encounter. Therefore In Psalm 149:6, it is written “Let the high praises of God be in their [a]mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand”. With these scriptures, one could realize that praise and two-edged sword are simultaneously prepared and used for battle.

The Bible says the more Moses' hand was raised, the more Joshua gained over the Amalekites, in Jericho. Joshua was able to bring down the unbreakable walls of Jericho with shouts of praise.

Jehoshaphat the king of Judah used praises to inquire from God about the battle between him and the Assyrians. He again used praises to overcome adversity and obtain victory.

Though these renowned leaders of Israel were not given the name above all names, the blood of Jesus or the Word, with praises they were unbeatable, unconquerable, indestructible and victorious over all their enemies.

David said in 34:1-4 that, I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make its boast in the Lord; The humble shall hear of it and be glad. Oh, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His name together. I sought the Lord, and He heard me and delivered me from all my fears. This was David's spiritual weapon of victory to gain the throne of Israel.

Paul and Silas overlooked every unpleasant ci circumstance around them and embarked on midnight praises to usher in the glory of God for their deliverance from the enemy, the return of the man to thank Jesus for his total healing of leprosy makes his healing complete without stigma and marks. May that grace of praise and thanksgiving be your portion this morning in Jesus' name Mighty name, Amen.
