ACTING ON THE WORD

Updated: Mar 23, 2023

OUR DAILY BREAD

Acts 19:20

In this way, the word of the Lord spread widely and grew in power.

Now Naaman, captain of the army of the king of Aram, he was a great man and respected, the Lord had given victory to Aram by his leadership. The man was also a courageous warrior, but he was afflicted with leprosy.

One day the Bible said Naaman returned from battle and she brought a girl they have taken captive to his house, and she saw her master Naaman's condition and confined in his wife saying “I wish that my master were with the prophet who is in Samaria! Then he would cure him of his leprosy”

Neeman responds positively and journeys to the land of Israel and finally met the prophets Elisha in front of his house he sent a messenger to tell him, saying, “Go and wash in the Jordan seven times, and your flesh shall be restored to you and you shall be clean.” But Naaman was furious and went away.

He said I thought, ‘He will surely come out to me, and stand and call on the name of the LORD his God, and wave his hand over the place, and cure the leper.’ Are there not Abanah and Pharpar, the rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? Could I not wash in them and be clean?” So he turned and went away in a rage, but the slave girl said to him. My father, "if the prophet had told you to do some great thing, would you not have done it? How much more, then, when he tells you, So Naaman listened to the slave girl and went and to do that which the prophet asked of him and he was totally clean from that leprosy.

Our lesson from above is, we need to put the word into action or act on it, then it can prevail thus, Acts 19:20 said so mightily grew the word and prevail, Neeman's obedience later led him to dip himself into the water and the Word prevailed over his sickness and he was free. May God help us to prevail in the word amen.
