AVOID DISTRACTIONS

DECLARATION

Luke 10:40-42

But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work alone? Tell her to help me!”41 “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, 42 but few things are needed—or indeed only one. [a] Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her."

One of the keys to every successful person is living focused and purpose-driven life. Jesus' earthly ministry was full of challenges, temptation, and distraction from the scribes, the Pharisees, and the Sadducees yet He focused to fulfilled His purpose and vision in life.

Our opening scripture explains to us, how Jesus visited the home of these two sisters to preach the Good News. The Bible says Mary was attentively listening while Martha was distracted with domestic chores, complaining to the extent that Jesus said to Her. “Martha, you are worried and upset about many things, Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”

Recently, a friend of mine was fasting for more grace in his life and he had a dream. He was supposed to go for an interview but he was doing something else and the Lord told him he needed to focus if he wants to experience His glory and breakthrough in life.

This is the challenge that many Christians face in life, in the church, in marriages, at work, and when praying. Some of us are being distracted by the tendency of affection and passion for other things in the church and life. Our minds are far from within, but God is calling on you this morning to focus on the word that can bring you success and peace without distraction.

Meditation:

Matthew 6:33

Psalm 77:2

Joshua 1:1-8

Proverbs 8:17

Declaration:

I refuse to be distracted, I declare my life is on purpose in Jesus’ name, as Joseph refused Potiphar’s wife so I refuse any carnality that will distract and divert me from my destiny. I declare I am walking in my blessing through the guidance of His word in Christ Jesus.

Prayer:

Father, I thank You for the grace to focus on your word in Jesus' name, amen.
