DECLARATION

BE MINDFUL OF YOUR WORDS.

Philippians 4:8-9

[8] Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable if anything is excellent or praiseworthy think about such things. [9] Whatever you have learned, received, heard from me, or seen in me, put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.


When you read the bible carefully about the life of David, it seems like his legal right and peace were taken away from him right after being anointed by the prophet Samuel. The one he helped most pursued him to terminate his life because he was seen as a threat. His friends and some families abandoned him because of king Saul’s hatred of him.


David went through many challenges, though he lamented because of life's threatening challenges, yet he ended up praising God. The bible also said Job experienced sudden storms of life, challenges that caused the death of his children and the destruction of his properties. Yet, he was greatly afflicted with many diseases. He also lamented, but he restrained himself from evil utterances and thoughts that could easily ensnare his success.


Joseph was sold by his brothers, he was enslaved and imprisoned, yet he never allowed that condition to determine his utterances. The Bible says in Lamentations 3:19-24, I remembered my afflictions, wanderings, and bitterness. I remember my soul was downcast within me, yet I have hope. In verse 22 Because of the Lord’s great love, we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail.23 They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. 24 I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion; therefore, I will wait for him.”


This morning I want to encourage you to think positively about God’s word and declare the right word as our opening verse demands. For there is power in your thought and mouth to effect changes. Put the right words into practice for God's peace to reign over your life. Never give up, uphold the right word for God’s glory and honor and your life will not be the same.

Declare this:

I declare my life and utterances are not moved by the circumstances surrounding me. I declare I am not influenced by the world's economy rather; the blessings of God have made all things work for me in Christ Jesus Amen.


Prayer:

Father, I thank you for helping me to tame my tongue in Jesus’ name, Amen,
