Isaiah 7:9

The head of Ephraim is Samaria, and the head of Samaria is only Remaliah’s son. If you do not stand firm in your faith, you will not stand at all.

One of the graces that enable us to assess our level of faith in Christ is how we apply or uphold the word of God when we are faced with circumstances beyond our control or hopeless situations. The Bible said in Hebrews 11:2 'Through their faith, the people in days of old earned a good reputation.'

When you read from Isaiah 7:1-12, one could realize that, when King Ahaz the king of Judah heard that Syria had allied with Israel against them, he and the people trembled with fear. The scripture says they were like trees shaking in a storm. Unlike Daniel who upholds the word for great exploit in the mix of trials and temptation.

Then the Lord sent a message to Him through Isaiah and told him to stop worrying and not fear the threat of the enemy, the battle is the Lord's. All that he could do is to stand firm in the faith.

What faith was God talking about? To trust His word. The Bible says faith comes by hearing the word Romans 10:17. God spoke to Ahaz if he doesn’t stand firm and believe the word with expectation, he would never stand at all which means he will be defeated and become subject to his enemy.

This morning I encourage you to stand firm in your faith in God’s word against the challenges you are experiencing with your health, finance, marriage, bills, occupation, terminal diseases, and barrenness. It could be any form and you will surely come out with a testimony. The Bible says in 1 Thessalonians 5:24, that the one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it. Amen.
