BIBLE VERSE - Jude 20
But you, dear friends, by building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit,
Apostle Paul was addressing his farewell message to the church in Ephesus in his conclusion he said in Acts 20:32. “Now I commit you to God and to the word of his grace, which can build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified. The question we may ask is why Paul decided to commit the church and the elders to the word.
Romans 1:16 declares that the word is “the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes.” 1 John 2:5 says that, through obedience, we are made complete in the Word. Chapter 1 verses 1 to 2 also says the Word is the source of believers' internal life.
Though Paul said the word can build us up with inheritance, we need to play a vital role to succeed in this purpose, therefore Jude in his strong warning message to believers in the unknown community warns against false teachers and encourages them.
To build themselves in the faith, that is to uphold the word of truth the faith in Romans 10:17, in the face of every challenge, circumstance, and false teacher who preaches heresies and secondly pray in the Holy Spirit. And these are the responsibility of every believer who wants to experience victory in Christ Jesus.
As Christ structured himself in the Word, with prayers in every season, So is expected of every follower of him to emulate Him. May God's grace strengthen you to uphold the faith in the word and be prayerful in the spirit, in season, and out of season, Amen.

Prayer:
Dear Father, I thank you for the way to build my Christian life in the Word and for upholding my faith continuously from victory to victory in Christ Jesus. I thank you for the grace upon my life and the indwelling power of his holy Spirit that is helping me to abide and focus on the word in Jesus' name, Amen.
