PEACEMAKER

OUR DAILY BREAD

Matthew 5:9 NIV

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.

Jesus’ message in John 14:27 says, "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." Also, in James 3:18, Peacemakers who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness.

Peace-making should be the main priority in our Christian life but unfortunately even among Christian brothers and sisters is full of enmity, hatred, backbiting, gossip, and fault-finding which we don’t have to allow, for it written Peacemaker sow in peace and reap righteousness.

In Mark 4:38-39, it is written "Jesus was seriously asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and said to Him, “Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?” because the sea was full of storms [39] Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, [a] be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm."

This is who He was and is. Thus, He was able to effect changes to bring peace to the raging sea, to the surprise of His disciples he sews peace in many lives and many saw God’s righteousness in Him. Today, Christ the peace giver has become our peace through His Spirit in us. therefore, He said those who are led by the Spirit are children of God who make peace.

And our opening verse says children of God are the peacemakers and they are blessed. I encourage you this morning to live a life worthy of that demand on you for Christ has redeemed you into the kingdom of peace. Thus your life, marriage, friends, health, finance, and Job must also enjoy that peace in Jesus' Mighty name.
