Jeremiah 15:16
Your words were found, and I ate them; and Your words were to me a joy and the rejoicing of my heart, for I am called by Your name, O Lord God of hosts.
Today the world has become a place where one can see the works of the enemy through people's attitudes and characters, in articles we read or news we listen to across the world. It makes one ask if some people have morals at all because the world is full of evil.
Jeremiah found himself in such a situation where the conscience of the nation was seared with evil and wickedness with little or no regard for God's word. Though God spoke to them yet the more they planned evil against their neighbors and against God. They rejected the truth in the Word hence violence, wickedness, and crimes everywhere.
But our opening verse said Jeremiah received the word and ate it and found joy and that made him rejoice in his heart. He was even called by God's name and questioned how he could eat the word.
In John 6:51, the bible says the word is the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats this bread will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world. Jesus is the word that became flesh. He said peace have I given unto you. Philippians 4:4-5 says rejoice for the Lord is near in His word.
Where the word is present, brothers and sisters live in harmony. When it is absent, violence and hatred among brethren increase. John 8:32 says "and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free". Freedom from evil intentions.
This morning I encourage you to pursue the word meditate on it and declare it into your heart and you will find the peace and joy you need in life. (tell somebody about it today and win his soul for christ)
Meditation
John 15
Declare this: I make up my mind to meditate on the Word day and night so that I can experience freedom and peace in this world in Jesus’ name. Thank you, Holy Spirit for helping me, amen.
