UNDERSTAND THE WORD

Proverbs 3:5 NLT

Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.

Ephesians 5:17 says 'Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is.' Jesus in His ministry, devoted enough time to study and pray so he taught, preached, and trained His disciples with understanding. He also spoke in parables to invoke the spirit of understanding in their lives because He knew understanding brings knowledge, wisdom, and the power to succeed.

Hosea 4:6 says 'my people are destroyed from lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also reject you as my priests. Knowledge comes from understanding. Proverbs 17:27 says 'Whoever restrains his words has the knowledge, and he who has a cool spirit is a man of understanding.' This means understanding and discipline bring harmony, success, victory, promotion, and power in all that we do because we know what, when, and how to do it.

In 2 Timothy 2:7 Apostle, Paul prayed 'may the Lord give his servant Timothy spirit of understanding to operate in all things.' Job 28:28 also says it takes an understanding of the word to depart from evil, that is doing God's will according to His word. Therefore, there is the need to pray and desire to study the word of God day and night and obtain understanding, power, wisdom, knowledge, and strength for your spiritual life.

In Psalm 119:34 David prayed to God to Give him understanding, that he may keep His law and observe it with his whole heart. I pray that you will also pray this prayer every morning before you read your Bible to get understanding and revelational knowledge that God is giving you to walk in victory.
