DEVOTIONAL BREAD

Philippians 2:12NIV
[12] Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence but now much more in my absence - continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling,
When we study the bible carefully, as the nation of Israel humble themselves to God and abide in his word, they were saved from the devices of the enemy on their journey to the promised land. The obedience to God’s word enabled them to pass through the sea, and the same sea consumed their enemies, This means salvation is the everyday work of life, though they are saved from Egypt.
Therefore, the apostle said in our opening scriptures, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed not only in my presence but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling. The question here is, what does it mean to work out our salvation with fear and trembling?
He said, “work it out with fear and tremble”. This word literally means in its original state, is given reverence, and prioritizes to the word that saves you. When he was living out from Ephesians church, he said, " And now I entrust you to God and the message of his grace that is able to build you up and give you an inheritance among all those he has saved for himself. Acts 20:32.
1 Peter 5:8 Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. John 10:10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life and have it to the full.
The word that brought you salvation is what can sustain you from the schemes of the enemy in your Christian journey. Therefore, I encourage you to give priority and reverence with all humility to the word, for it is the best way to work out of your salvation with fear and trembling.
