Introduction
In the tapestry of our Christian journey, each believer is woven into a larger narrative—a call, a purpose that beckons us to fulfill our role in the Kingdom of God. This call, this divine commission, is not a mere coincidence but a deliberate orchestration by our Creator. Just as Jesus declared in Luke 2:49, "Why did you seek Me? Did you not know that I must be about My Father’s business?" – so too are we summoned to embark on a mission that transcends our individual lives.
Answering the Call: A Biblical Mandate
In the Gospel of Matthew, we glimpse Jesus summoning the twelve disciples to His side. This summons was not arbitrary; it was a strategic move in His divine plan. In Matthew 10:5, we find these profound words, "These twelve Jesus sent out with the following instructions: 'Do not go among the Gentiles or enter any town of the Samaritans. Go rather to the lost sheep of Israel.'"
The disciples were entrusted with a sacred task – to spread the good news, to heal the sick, and to drive out demons. This mandate echoes across the pages of Scripture, resonating with our own call today.
A Call to Reach the Unreached
In the Book of Acts, the unfolding drama of the early Church reveals yet another facet of this call. Through the voice of the Lord, Ananias is commanded in Acts 9:15, "Go! This man is my chosen instrument to proclaim my name to the Gentiles and their kings and to the people of Israel.'"
This divine injunction underscores the imperative to reach out to the Gentiles, to bear witness to the transformative power of the Gospel, and to rescue souls from the darkness. A poignant truth emerges – unless the messengers go forth, the message remains unheard.
The Urgency of the Call
Romans 10:14 raises a thought-provoking question, "How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?" Here, the urgency of our call is unveiled with stark clarity.
Believers, we are not called to idly observe; we are commissioned to passionately proclaim. Our call is not an isolated event; it is a vital link in the chain of salvation. The responsibility to share the Gospel rests upon us.
The Great Commission: A Divine Mandate
In Matthew 28:19-20, a resounding mandate reverberates through the ages, "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely, I am with you always, to the very end of the age.'"
This is our divine commission, our sacred duty – to go, baptize, teach, and guide. This is not a casual suggestion; it is a command that beckons us to act.
Embracing the Challenge: Your Kingdom Business
Today, as the sun rises on a new dawn, the Lord extends a challenge to each believer. He calls us to engage in the business of His Kingdom, the business of soul-winning. Just as Jesus declared in Luke 2:49, we are reminded that we, too, must be about our Father’s business.
Meditation
As we meditate on the profound truths woven into the fabric of Romans 8, let us internalize the weight of our call. Let us understand that we have been considered worthy to partake in the Kingdom business of soul-winning.
Conclusion
Believers, the call is clear, the mandate resounding. Our Father's business beckons – a call to reach, to teach, to proclaim, and to rescue. Let us heed the call with unwavering resolve, knowing that in answering, we align ourselves with the heart of our Creator. As we step into the realm of the Great Commission, may our lives become a living testimony to the transformative power of the Gospel.
Declaration
I declare that I am born again to respond to my call as a believer, reaching out to the lost and preaching the good news to the world. I affirm that I am the light of the world, dispelling every darkness around me, interceding on behalf of those affected by sickness and poverty, and opening doors for the brokenhearted in Jesus' name.
Prayer
Dear Lord, my heart overflow with gratitude. "Father, I thank you for considering me worthy to be part of the kingdom business of soul-winning. Thank you for this greater work in Jesus' name." Lord, May this prayer you a passion within me to wholeheartedly embrace my call and fulfill my divine purpose.
